2. Important Notes

(1) The visa-exempt stay may be 14, 30, or 90 days, counted from the day after entry. Travelers are required to leave Taiwan on or before the last day of the permitted stay.

(2) Penalties for overstaying:

  • Less than 10 days: subject to a fine of NT$10,000.
  • 11 to 30 days: subject to a fine of NT$20,000.
  • 31 to 60 days: subject to a fine of NT$30,000.
  • 61 to 90 days: subject to a fine of NT$40,000.
  • More than 91 days: subject to a fine of NT$50,000.


(Individuals under the age of 14 are exempt from penalties. Other reductions or exemptions shall be determined in accordance with the competent authority’s regulations.)

(3) The 90-day visa-exemption for nationals of North Macedonia is currently implemented on a trial basis and will remain effective until March 31, 2030.

(4) Travelers must complete the Online Immigration Arrival Card within three days prior to entering Taiwan via the National Immigration Agency’s website: https://twac.immigration.gov.tw.
