The Canada Working Holiday is an open work permit designed for residents of Hong Kong who intend to travel in Canada and wish to find temporary paid employment to help pay for their trip for up to 12 months. This work permit allows you work for almost any employer* in Canada.

To qualify for the open work permit, the applicant must be admissible to Canada and is a Hong Kong resident with aged between 18 and 30 inclusive. Also, you must hold a valid passport issued by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or the United Kingdom to a British National Overseas (BNO).

One of the benefits Working Holiday permits is that it allows people to explore Canada, experience new cultures, and gain valuable skills and work experience while earning money to support your travels.

Handling and Application Fees

Kaizen’s handling fee for the Canadian Working Holiday application is CAD1980.

The above-stated fees are exclusive of all governmental application, biometrics, employer compliance fees, any delivery or courier charges, translation fees, notarization fees, medical examination and police certificate fees, etc.

Our fee covers the following services:

1. Assessing the eligibility of the applicant and consulting with our immigration counsel;
2. Providing continuous advice throughout the entire working holiday application process;
3. Offering guidance on creating an IRCC secure account and an online International Experience Canada (IEC) profile;
4. Assisting with gathering the necessary supporting documentation;
5. Preparing the application forms and supporting documents;
6. Assisting in filling out online forms;
7. Submission of work permit application;
8. Guidance on medical examination(s) and police certificate(s);
9. Guidance on biometrics collection (where necessary);
10. Response to IRCC’s request for additional document(s) after the initial submission of the application (where necessary);
11. Handling of approved visa.

Payment Terms and Refund Policy

Upon receipt of your confirmation of engagement, we will issue and send an invoice together with the wiring instructions to you for your settlement. When you arrange the payment, please put our invoice number of account number in the message section and then send a copy of the remittance receipt to us for our records. Due to nature of the service, payment must be fully settled in advance. No fees will be refunded once services are provided.

We currently accept Hong Kong Dollar cheque, cash or TT and credit card through PayPal only. If payment is settled through PayPal, extra 5% services fee will be charged

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Canadian Working Holiday, Applicant must:

1. Be a resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
2. Prove you are a resident of the HKSAR (either a residential or mailing address in Hong Kong)
3. Have a valid HKSAR passport or a valid British National (Overseas) passport
4. Be between the ages of 18 and 30 (inclusive)
5. Be admissible to Canada
6. Not be accompanied by dependents

Documentary Evidence and Information Requirements

The following documents and information are required for the purpose of your Canada Working Holiday application:

Forms and Supporting documents

1. Police certificates for countries or territories where you have lived for 6 months or more in a row since the age of 18
2. Medical Exams certificates if plan to stay for more than 6 months and you’ve recently lived or travelled in certain countries or territories for 6 months or more, or you plan to work in the health field primarily or secondary education, childcare or elderly care
3. Resume that describes your education qualifications and work experience
4. Passport
5. Photo (at least 35 mm x 45 mm, or at least 420 x 540 pixels)
6. Family Information form (IMM 5707)
7. Proof of residency

Documents needed before entering Canada

1. Health insurance that covers medical care, hospitalization, repatriation
2. Proof that you have enough money to support yourself for the first 3 month of your stay in Canada (CAD 2500 or other currency of equivalent value)

Application Steps and Estimated Timeline

The work permit application assessment may take around 8 weeks (56 days) (starts once after you got an invite to apply, and you’ve submitted all required documents). The processing times vary number of applicants, wheather additional documents are requested.
