This quotation applies to specialized foreign professionals from Hong Kong, Macau, and other countries. It is for the application of work permits and Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) in Taiwan and is not applicable to individuals from Mainland China.
Kaizen charges a service fee of USD 800 per person for processing Taiwan work permits, and USD 250 per person for ARC.
The fee specifically includes the following services:
1. Provide professional consultation for Taiwan Work Permit and Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) application;
2. Review the application documents provided by the client;
3. Assist clients in preparing the documents required for application;
4. Fill out the work permit application forms and other documents;
5. Submit the work permit and ARC application documents to the Taiwan Workforce Development Agency and the Immigration Agency;
6. Communicate with the Taiwan Workforce Development Agency and the Immigration Agency during the application process;
7. Pay visa application fee and pick-up the work permit on client behalf;
8. Arrange for the delivery of the work permit and residence certificate to the client.
Our service fee does not include government charges, document translation fees, or document courier fees. The cost for the resident visa depends on the applicant’s nationality and location and will be quoted separately.
Specialized foreign nationals who wish to work in Taiwan shall choose one of the following fields and check if they met the criteria of the specific field:

9. Science & Technology
10. Sport
Taiwan employers must meet one of the following conditions:
1. Taiwan Company:
Company established for less than one year must have a paid-in capital of at least NTD 5,000,000, annual turnover of at least NTD10,000,000, total import/export turnover of at least USD1,000,000 or commission from agency transactions of at least USD 400,000.
Company established for more than one year must have an average annual turnover of at least NTD10,000,000 for the most recent year or the average of the past three years, and average total import/export turnover of at least USD1,000,000, or an average agency commission of at least USD 400,000.
2. Foreign Company with Branch in Taiwan or Mainland China Company with Branch in Taiwan:
For branch established for less than one year: operational funds in Taiwan must be at least NTD5,000,000, annual turnover must be at least NTD10,000,000, total import/ export turnover must reach at least USD1,000,000, or agency commission must be at least USD400,000.
For branch established for more than one year: the average annual turnover in Taiwan for the most recent year or the average of the past three years must be at least NTD10,000,000, the average total import/export turnover must reach at least USD1,000,000, or the average agency commission must be at least USD400,000.
The processing time for individual applications for a Taiwan work permit and Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) is approximately two to three weeks. The actual working days may vary depending on the case.
The validity of a work permit ranges from 1 – 5 years, with a maximum of 5 years, as determined by the Taiwan Workforce Development Agency and the Immigration Agency. Please note that the applicants who have obtained a specialized work permit for the first time, starting from the first tax year in which a person resides in Taiwan for 183 days and earns more than three million NT dollars, half of the amount exceeding three million NT dollars will be exempt from individual income tax for the next five years. Extensions can be applied for before expiry, with each extension period lasting up to five years.
1. A copy of the Taiwan ID Card or passport of the responsible person of the Taiwan company;
2. Copy of the Taiwan company’s business registration certificate, proof of turnover, and if it is a Taiwan representative office, a document proving work performance;
3. A copy of the employment contract (which should include the name, nationality, job title, job description, salary compensation, employment period, and signatures from both parties);
4. An original and one copy of the foreign employee’s passport;
5. A copy of the foreign employee’s educational certificate and resume;
6. A document proving the foreign employee’s work experience;
7. Supporting documentation of the specific field chosen;
8. A document proving residence in Taiwan;
9. An original employment certificate issued by Taiwan employer;
10. Two 2-inch passport-size photos taken within the last six months.
The list mentioned above is not final; the Workforce Development Agency may require additional information and/or documents depending on the case. If the nationality of the employed foreigner is from a country specifically designated by the Taiwan Immigration agency, the documents must first be verified by the Taiwan overseas representative offices abroad. The original documents must be provided to our office for verification.
